PubMed and other databases: Repertory of scientific knowledge in homeopathy

In the last decades homeopathy has established itself in the academic context and thus the practice of Evidence based Medicine has become an imperative. Therefore a professional handling of literature databases such as PubMed , literature databases, Homoeopathy  and  CAM online-portals is necessary. Participants of this presentation get an insight into the possibility of successful literature search in the field of homeopathy.

Christa Raak is working as research fellow in the field of Homeopathy and Complementary Medicine at the Institute of Integrative Medicine, University of Witten / Herdecke since 2009. In 2014 she earned Bachelor's degree in Complementary Medicine. Her work priorities are in the field of basic and clinical research with a focus in the publication of meta-analyses and systematic reviews.  She is responsible for the management of the Specialist Library of Complementary Medicine at the University of Witten/Herdecke. Alongside her academic work she runs a private practice of Classical Homeopathy since 2004.

Since 2001 Daniela Hacke holds the management of the scientific specialist library of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) which includes a large special collection of homeopathic books, theses, journals and articles. Her projects include the CAM-Quest database portal, the database on clinical research on veterinary homeopathy and the translation of scientific results within the field of CAM to the broader public. Moreover, she performs workshops for postgraduate students on literature search within the framework of the foundation’s promotion of (medical) students.
